SHORT  COMPARATIVES  use ER  and  THAN

 NOUN    +      IS-ARE-AM     + ADJECTIVE+ER       + THAN  +  NOUN

EXAMPLE: He-    fat  - the girl

 He is fatter than the girl.

LONG  COMPARATIVES use MORE and THAN
